Daylight Saving Time Change: Beta Test Results and Next Steps

Daylight Saving Time ended on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 2:00 AM local time.

During past time changes, some AlarmAgent units had a temporary communication outage. During this outage, alarm notifications and data updates can be interrupted. Affected units show a Watchdog Alarm.

Beta Test Program: Successful

Before the time change, we installed a firmware update on the units in our beta test program. This update was made to fix the outage. The beta test was successful.

Thank you to all customers who joined the beta test program.

Next Step: Update for All Active Units

We are now developing a plan to install the firmware update on all active units. We will send you the rollout schedule when the plan is ready.

How to Check if Your RTU Is Affected

  • Affected: Your RTU shows a Watchdog Alarm.
  • Not affected: Your RTU's last communication time is after 10:30 UTC on November 1.

If you are not sure, poll the unit or wait for its next scheduled update.

How to Restore an Affected RTU

  • Immediate fix: Power cycle the RTU. This forces a new server connection and restores communication right away. For instructions, see Resetting a unit experiencing a DST Watchdog.
  • Automatic recovery: If you take no action, the unit reconnects within about 25 hours, during its normal daily sync with our servers.
